My Journey to Becoming a Certified Sex Therapist

Sex is important for a variety of reasons, both physical and emotional. It shows up in my sessions with clients regularly, from conversations about reproduction to emotional connections with others, pleasure, and self-exploration. For this reason, and a few others, I became a Certified Sex Therapist (CST).

I believe being a Certified Sex Therapist is important for several reasons; professionalism and credibility, knowledge and expertise, and trust and confidence. In order to attain my certification as a CST, I completed more than 90 hours of coursework on Human Sexuality, and an additional 60 hours focused specifically on Sex Therapy. Additionally, I participated in 50 hours of clinical supervision and met the high standards and requirements established by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).

I am proud of becoming a CST and feel better equipped to help clients overcome a wide range of sexual concerns, such as erectile dysfunction, low libido, painful intercourse, sexual trauma, and communication issues. As a Certified Sex Therapist (CST), I have gained valuable skills and knowledge that enable me to offer effective guidance and support to individuals and couples looking to enhance their sexual experiences and explore their sexuality with greater confidence and understanding.

Sexuality is a natural aspect of life. Therefore, it is crucial to create a safe and open environment where conversations about sex can take place. I foster a non-judgmental and inclusive space that promotes sex positivity, enabling individuals and couples to explore their relationships and cultivate deeper intimacy.
